About Angela Shultz
ANGELA SHULTZ is the 2010 recipient of the Hanson Award from the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs, as well as a 2012 Nominee for Best Female Vocalist for her show, “Do Overs.” Her latest show, Reality Check, played a successful run at Don't Tell Mama in NYC in 2014. Other solo cabaret shows: The Whole Wide World (debut), Closer Than You Think: Songs of Brett Kristofferson, and Kiss Me Like You Mean It. As a cabaret artist, she has appeared at BB Kings, The Duplex, Metropolitan Room, Laurie Beechman Theatre, Gotham Comedy Club and many more New York City venues. Angela also directed Hector Coris’ 2010 MAC Award-winning performance in Life is Wonderful and two shows for Jerry Phelps.
Theatre credits include: National Tour – Titanic (Alice Beane), Off-Broadway -- York Theatre reading -- Paris Through the Window (The Muse), Assassins (Sara Jane Moore - Hudson Guild Theatre), Falsettos (Cordelia - Wingspan Arts),Coris of Disapproval (The Players Theatre), Making God and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari for Midtown International Theatre Festival, and developmental readings of The Wasp Woman (Phyllis Futch) and Halloween Hullabaloo.
Recent regional credits include Titanic (Alice Beane) and Nunset Blvd (Reverend Mother). Other favorite regional roles include Closer Than Ever (Woman 2 – Miss Byrd), The Secret Garden (Martha), Company (Marta), Bat Boy (Ruthie/Ned), Nunsense (Rev Mo and Hubert), and Godspell (Joanne and Sonia).
Angela holds a Master’s in Theatre Education from Fontbonne University and a Bachelor of Music from Missouri Baptist University. She taught for Professional Performing Arts School in NYC as well as Fontbonne and Missouri Baptist universities, Jefferson College, Stages St. Louis many other arts education programs. She has performed in master classes with Barbara Cook, Sally Mayes, Lina Koutrakos and Rick Jensen.
